In pursuance of a waste free community, Clean and Beautiful Atmosphere Initiative, an NGO, has come up with a resourceful and sustainable method for eliminating unwanted plastics from the environment, including from gutters, drainages, and canals. The device is a giant iron net storage bin for temporarily store used plastics/cans prior to evacuation.

Useable by organisations, residential compounds, plazas, etc., the bin, by prior arrangement, is picked up by recyclers on a regular basis. The company says it is promoting the innovation for communities and households to be able to buy at affordable prices.

Clean and Beautiful Atmosphere will do the work of contacting Recycling companies to collect them at a token. Lauretta Asemota, the company’s CEO says “This is part of our organization’s strategy to develop a culture of proper plastics waste disposal in our communities”.

She said further that it is to free our drainage systems which are usually blocked with plastics resulting in flooding during the rainy season and they stay there as an eyesore right through the dry season. This can be avoided with such deliberate strategized solutions beginning from our households.
